CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which affects the heart and blood vessels, is the leading cause of death in people with diabetes, accounting for two-thirds of all deaths in people with type 2 diabetes. Besides that, people with diabetes are twice as likely as non-diabetics to have heart disease or a stroke.

Symptoms of CVD include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue 
  • Weakness or numbness in your arms or legs  
  • Discomfort in one or both of your arms, back, jaw, neck, or upper abdomen
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sweating
  • Indigestion, nausea, or vomiting
